Click on the corresponding admin tab to open the Settings workspace.

In this area, various basic settings and specifications for the website can be selected.

Danger: Entries in text fields must be saved by pressing the Enter key.

General settings

Compile the website title display:

1Name of the website. What is written here also appears in the header of the admin area.

2This symbol is used to separate the individual display elements in the browser's title bar.

3This is where what is displayed in the browser's title bar is put together.

  • What should be the title of your entire website?
What should be the the separator between the title bar's elements?
Select the browser title bar's format from the given ones.

The following elements are allowed:

  • {WEBSITE} = the title of the website defined in 1
  • {SEP} = the separator defined in 2
  • Category = Name of the currently displayed category
  • Content page = Name of the currently displayed content page
  • any text

If the "Contact" page is opened in the "Welcome" category, the above example creates the following text in the browser title bar:

moziloCMS - The CMS for Beginners - Welcome - Contact

Information for search engines:

1Field for a meaningful short description of the website. This text is displayed in the search results in search engines.

2Field for the search terms (keywords) under which the page should be found (separated by commas and spaces).

The clearer the short description describes the topic of the website, the better the chances of being ranked well on this topic.
The same applies to search terms: "Less is more!" Entries over 255 characters are ignored by most search engines anyway.

  • Describe your website in a few words. These will be shown as additional info in search engines.
Set keywords matching to your website. They will be evaluated by search engines - but notice that many search engines punish keyword spam with downrating or even deleting from index.

Language of the CMS:

1Here you can use a scroll menu to select the language in which the website displays information and messages.

  • Choose the language standard texts (e.g. tool tips) on your website should be displayed in.

{ADMIN_USER_SELECT_DEFAULTCAT}:

1Selection of the category that should be displayed when the website is first accessed, or when a page that is accessed does not exist.

The first content page of a category that has the status "normal" and is therefore visible is always displayed.

  • Select the default start category of your website here.

{CONFIG_INPUT_DRAFTMODE}:

The construction site mode makes it possible to display an information page while work is being done on the website in the background.
To do this, an otherwise hidden construction site category is made visible with the information page and set as the start category (see above).
If you want to work on the template itself, it is a good idea to activate a separate construction site template during this time.
The original website can be accessed at any time via the "Preview" in the admin area or by appending a "?draft=true" to the page call.

1Activation of construction site mode. This hides all categories in the website menu except the start category.

2Selection of which template should be displayed in construction site mode.

  • {CONFIG_TEXT_DRAFTMODE}

Sitemap:

1By activating or deactivating this checkbox, a sitemap is created or deleted.
A sitemap is a tabular overview of the individual pages of a website, which the search engine robots navigate by.

Whenever there is a change in the category and/or page structure of the website, the sitemap is automatically updated and the robots.txt is adjusted.

Syntax settings

Use CMS syntax:

1The standard Mozilo CMS syntax can be deactivated here.
HTML code must then be used to format the page content.

  • If you don't need the comfort of the CMS syntax and want to write your contents in HTML, uncheck this option. This option applies to all content pages. To work without the CMS syntax is recommended to users with advanced HTML skills only.

Custom syntax elements:

1When you click on the Edit icon{ADMIN_EDIT} a window opens in which you can define your own syntax elements using CSS and HTML.

  • You can add your own elements to moziloCMS' syntax.
    For more details, see
    page-edit

Emoticons:

1When this checkbox is activated, some funny emoticons are available in the page editor.

  • moziloCMS can replace emoticons in content pages (e.g. ":)" or ":P") by graphical smileys. Select this option, if you want to use these graphical smileys.
Edit Color

3To save colors, the small color field must first be dragged to the left into the wide input field   and placed there.
Here, the colors can be sorted in the desired order by simply moving them back and forth.

4By clicking on the save icon Save the content of the input field is then saved.

5To delete, simply drag the color fields to the trash can{ADMIN_DELETE} and then save Save

  • {CONFIG_TEXT_DEFAULTCOLORS}
    savedelete

Advanced Settings

Here you can select where content pages with the attribute "normal" should still be displayed.

  • Normally, hidden content pages never show up on your website. Here, you may define exceptions: Where should invisible content pages show up?

Here you can select whether external links or file downloads should be opened in the current or a new browser window.

  • Which links should open in a new browser window/tab (target

Here you can set whether content pages with the same name as the category in which they are located are hidden in the detail menu.
This setting is intended for the first page of a category. Since this is already called up by clicking on the category, it does not have to appear again in the detail menu.

  • Should content pages be hidden from the detail/sub menu if they have the same name as their categories?

Caution: If a page with the same name is not the first page of the category, activating this function makes it invisible.

Checkbox to activate "mod_rewrite".
This server function converts the often very cryptic page views into nicer, easier to read and therefore more memorable links.
A link that is normally "www.domain.de?cat=Willkommen&page=Kontakt" becomes "www.domain.de/Willkommen/Kontakt.html".

  • Should mod_rewrite be used?

Checkbox to activate tooltips.
Tooltips are small pop-up windows that display a short description or information when the mouse pointer is held over a link.
Example: Simply hold the mouse pointer over here

  • Should your visitors see tool tips when hovering links?
